MMIF to host marine recoveries panel event

The Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum (MMIF) will hold a panel discussion on marine recoveries on August 24 on the topic of recoveries in the marine and transport context.

The expert panel will feature Gallagher Senior Claims Executive Sarah Kennedy, Chubb Asia Pacific Marine Claims Manager Mark Peters, Australian Claims Settling Services Marine Surveyor Fairooz Khadiwala, and Collin Biggers & Paisley Partner Andrew Tulloch.

“This session is a must for anyone new to marine and transport insurance as well as those more experienced looking for a refresher on the current state of play of this important area of claims management,” MMIF said.

"The spectrum of experience from the panelists will have relevance to everyone from claims, underwriting/risk management, broking, surveying and legal.”

Ms Kennedy has worked in the industry eight years, two specialising in marine cargo, and she helps clients with claims in Industrial Special Risk, property, public and products liability, contract works, domestic home, and travel & marine.

Mr Peters has worked in insurance claims for over 25 years, including 13 years as Chubb Marine Claims Manager for Australia. He was NTI Recovery and Settlement Manager in Marine and Heavy Motor before returning to Chubb in January.

Mr Tulloch has been involved with marine recovery work for more than 40 years and is a Life Member of the MMIF, while Mr Khadiwala began as a Marine Surveyor almost two decades ago.

The event will be held at Wotton + Kearney offices, Level 15, 600 Bourke St Melbourne at 3.45pm, and is followed by light refreshments.
