Cover Genius pairs with Uber in Brazil

Uber has agreed to use the Cover Genius distribution platform, XCover, to offer income protection insurance to its drivers in Brazil.

Drivers will be offered pay if injured, with premiums calculated on a per kilometre basis.

“With Cover Genius we are able to offer an efficient form of income protection which is optional and complements the regular insurance that already covers all of our trips,” Uber Brazil Senior Manager, Driver & Safety Operations Araceli Almeida said.

Drivers sign-up within the Uber app, and receive instant payments and claims servicing.

Cover Genius CEO Angus McDonald says the deal means Uber’s drivers “can get back on their feet if something goes wrong”.

Cover Genius, founded in Sydney, also has partnerships with Booking.com, Ryanair, Turkish Airlines, Descartes ShipRush, Amazon, eBay, Wayfair, Shopee and more.
