Repair management firm AAMC has introduced a two-year motor assessor trainee program to address a lack of qualified talent.  

The comprehensive two-year program will cover all aspects of insurance motor loss assessing and give participants Cert IV qualification in Vehicle Loss Assessing. Based in Brisbane, trainees earn $80,000-$85,000 a year. 

“Join the AAMC workgroup as a cadet and in just 12 months you will be a Motor Loss Assessor,” AAMC says.  

“Key responsibilities will include conducting assessments and preparing detailed assessment reports, negotiating, monitoring, and communicating outcomes to clients and claimants, managing relationships with repairers, controlling client costs in line with business requirements, and calculating vehicle values.” 

National Operations Manager Luke Hill says experienced motor vehicle assessors are an “ever-diminishing resource” as they retire, depart, or are promoted to management, and panel beaters as well as staff from associated sectors such as mechanical, motor service technicians, spray painters, auto electricians and others can undertake the course and "broaden the source pool”.
